One of the important departments of a spirit-filled church is to have a vibrant men’s ministry. The bible says watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong (1 Corinthians 16:13). Men are expected to conduct themselves like strong soldiers, on guard, as they watch for the return of their Lord. The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Victory Centre Oxford (VCO) is committed to preparing Christian men to occupy roles and responsibilities God created them to fulfil. The purpose is to equip men to be spiritual leaders in their homes, church, and communities.
The RCCG VCO’s men’s ministry is about encouragement, commitment, and fellowship that provide opportunities for continuing growth in the Christian faith through worship, prayer, and organised life-changing Christian events.
Our mission is to encourage and provide opportunities to help men improve their relationships with Jesus Christ, their families, and the greater community. This is also to foster increased transparency to bear one another’s burdens.
The RCCG VCO’s men’s ministry aims to achieve the following objectives:
- To increase men’s prayer life both privately and publicly
- To empower men of victory who are committed to godly living as they grow together in Christ-likeness (Ephesians 4:15).
- To promote biblical fatherhood and the importance of male leadership in the home (Ephesians 5:23)
- To provide a structure in which men are able to disciple other men
- To develop a yearly men’s retreat weekend
- To provide monthly fellowship activities
- To develop a support system for men in need
- To develop a network of resources
- To assist in discovering, utilising, and incorporating men’s gifts and talents in the church and community.
- To promote a culture of unity, love, and forbearance among men and within the RCCG VCO family (Ephesians 4:1-3).
